, From our Head of Primary School, Mrs Leoni McNeill, Belmont Christian College

The finish of this year is fast approaching! As we look back at the year that’s been, we can revel in the many accomplishments and goals achieved that God has had a clear hand in. Of recent significance, and what continually comes to mind, is our Primary School Musical, Seussical Jnr. What a celebration of each child’s talent and expression that was! Children and staff are still marvelling in how the event played out, with enthusiasm still bubbling away as we reminisce in the blessings that God provided all the way to the last finale number! A job well done!

Teaching and nurturing the ‘whole child’ so that they can flourish in the areas in which they have been gifted is our aim at Belmont Christian College. There are many and varied opportunities provided at the College taught through each of the Key Learning Areas from the NSW Primary Curriculum. Although NAPLAN results do not define a child and are not a determinant of a child’s future success, they can sometimes be a good indicator of how a child is travelling academically in the bigger scheme of things. It was interesting to note that our overall Year 3 and 5 NAPLAN results were again most pleasing, with our College average results sitting comfortably well above the National average. Opportunities to flourish in the myriad of teaching and learning areas, infused with the wonderful Gospel, will continue to be sought as we serve Him at Belmont Christian College.
