From our Primary Stage Leader, Mrs Alison McGufficke, McGufficke Alison 000040

Last Friday evening I had the privilege of attending our College musical, Peter Pan. I witnessed months of hard work, come together in a glorious showcase of student talent.

I saw once shy students shine, and the more extraverted students in their absolute element. Each giving their best for the glory of God. I also saw parents who had cheered their kids on from the sidelines, bursting with pride. The audience was highly engaged, laughing and clapping along, at the appropriate times. Staff and students from all years working together, supporting, and encouraging each other. Whether they were on stage, backstage or part of the band, it was very much a team effort.

The musical highlighted for me some keys to success that can be applied by all our students.

The importance of grit and determination – Students who found the rehearsals hard at times but stuck with it.

The value of growth – Students who have learnt new skills and gained confidence through their involvement in the musical. These can now be applied to other areas of their life.

Support for each other – Staff and students championing each other to be the best they can be. Imagine this filtering through the whole College.

And the value of courage – Students seeing the fruit of their labour. When you step out in faith there can be great reward.

You don’t have to have been in the musical to apply these.

God has a purpose and a plan for each of our lives. Can I encourage you to step out in faith and trust Him. He will direct your path.

Have a safe and enjoyable break. We look forward to seeing you back at the College on Monday, 19th July.
