Course Description

This course is for students who wish to gain knowledge and skills to enable the individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions in a defined context in a sports coaching setting.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply the skills and knowledge to conduct pre-planned coaching sessions with foundation level participants in a specific sport.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in assistant coaching roles working or volunteering at community based sports clubs and organisations in the Australian sport industry.

Gain knowledge, understanding and practical skills on how to be an effective sports coach and be able to officiate at sports events with confidence. 

Potential to gain Certificate II in Sports Coaching with the view to completing Certificate III.

Sports Coaching in a competency-based course, you will learn, develop and be assessed by demonstrating you can effectively carry out essential coaching skills.

How can this course help you in the future?

Completing the Certificate II qualifies you to be an official assistant coach, it leads to pathway achieving your Certificate III. Other vocational pathways include Sports Administration, Community Club official and fitness associated vocations.
