Term 2

Wednesday, 22 Apr 2020

 Dear Parents and Caregivers,

In keeping with the Premier’s announcement today, Term 2 will begin as it finished in Term 1. The first day for College students will still be Monday, 27th April. The majority of our students will be learning from home, however, the College will be open and operational for children of essential workers. Where practical, parents are asked to keep their children at home.

Teachers will plan the same learning for students at the College and at home.

The Premier and Minister for Education have announced a phased operating model for NSW schools during COVID-19. The new model will see students being reintroduced to some face-to-face learning on campus starting from week three. Schools are known as safe places for students to learn and teachers to work and everything will be done to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of our students, teachers, other employees and people entering the College.

Learning from home will remain an integral part of the phased return to face-to-face teaching in all schools.Parents are still encouraged to keep their children at home on the remaining days unless they are unable to be supervised at home.

The AISNSW (Australian Independent Schools) and CSA (Christian Schools Australia) are yet to meet to determine a transition pathway that is suitable for school communities.  I will communicate the advice and recommendations from these authorities as soon as schools are made aware.

My hope is that you have been able to enjoy rich family time amidst these unsettling times. I understand that juggling remote learning has been very challenging for most of you, however, I think it prudent to follow our Premier’s directives.

Once again, thankyou for your support and may you continue to know God’s peace and strength.

Ms Sharon Sopher

Principal
